About Roger
Improvisation, blues progressions, and complex scales define the technical foundation I provide for my students. Have you struggled to find a clear path through your guitar practice? My 9 years of experience behind the fretboard translate directly into functional, real-world musical application. I earned my Diploma of Music to ensure that I provide solid structure rather than just aimless jamming.
I have toured across Australia, played in 4 bands, and released 6 EPs and albums during my career. These projects taught me that technical skill matters less than how you actually use it in a live band situation. Let us work together to reach your specific musical destination.

Honesty is vital, so I admit that theory can feel incredibly dry until you actually hear it in action. I prioritize ear training and maintenance to ensure you are never held back by faulty gear or a lack of musical intuition. You get a monthly recorded review of progress to track exactly how your playing changes over time.
My teaching approach focuses on practical rhythm and lead guitar fundamentals. Read sheet music or tabs with confidence by applying them to songs you actually enjoy.
Keep it simple. I utilize my background in those 4 bands to guide hobbyists and grade exam candidates toward tangible improvement. Returning learners and self-taught players often find the necessary structure they lacked here. You will walk away from our time together with a clearer understanding of your own instrument.
