About Betty
Do you find that tuning by ear or mastering complex arpeggios creates unnecessary tension during your practice sessions? Working through the RCM syllabus allows us to address these hurdles systematically while building your confidence. I lean on 6 years of experience to guide you through grade exam prep for ABRSM or Trinity boards.
We examine your technique closely to ensure every movement is deliberate. If you are a hobbyist or a returning learner, you will appreciate how I structure our time to be both productive and manageable. I provide a monthly progress report shared with parents to keep everyone aligned on your growth. These documents track your technical milestones and highlight the specific areas where we are finding success.
It is quite rewarding to see the progress made when we keep communication open. My goal is to ensure you feel supported as you navigate these musical challenges. I look forward to starting this journey with you.

Music theory, sight reading, and left hand agility occupy my daily focus when I engage with the violin. The resin dust on my fingers serves as a constant reminder of the 6 years spent performing classical and folk music across Canada. My journey includes helping many pupils refine their rhythm and timing while ensuring their orchestral playing remains precise. I balance these technical requirements with an encouraging approach that keeps students engaged throughout their musical growth.
Achieving RCM Grade 10 status was a significant milestone that now informs how I teach shifting positions and scales to others. My experience as a performer informs my work with hobbyists, kids, and returning learners who want to build a foundation.
