About Jacob
I am a graduate of NYU Steinhardt with a master's and post-master's artist diploma in flute performance and hold a bachelor's of music from the College of Saint Rose in Albany. I have held adjunct professorial positions at NYU and Molloy University in Rockville Centre and have worked as a NYC DoE music teacher (vocal and instrumental music) in the Bronx for the past five years. My former flute and baroque flute teachers include such world-renowned names as Yvonne Chavez-Hansbrough, Keith Underwood, Robert Dick, YooBin Sun (New York Phil), Stephanie Mortimer (Metropolitan Opera), and Sookyung Park. Additionally, I have studied oboe and English horn with Sherwood Willing Wise (Vermont Symphony) and Matt Sullivan (Quartet of the Americas and Cleveland Symphony), bassoon with Rebecca Eldridge (Vermont Symphony) and clarinet with Christopher Bush. As a historical performance specialist, I am also well-versed in historical musicology and Western classical music history which I have taught as a college prep course at a Bronx Arts High School.

Whether you are an adult student trying to take up or get back into playing purely as a hobby, or a high school senior preparing for college audition season, or even a young musician just starting your musical journey, I can help!
Lessons are available for half-hour and one-hour slots and can be conducted in person at your home or remotely via FaceTime, Skype or Google Meets.
