About Dr Getty
I'm an outstanding keyboardist and a dedicated piano instructor. I have been teaching the piano extensively for 20 years. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Music Education with a concentration in Jazz Piano and a Master's degree in Piano Pedagogy from the University of Miami, as well as a Doctorate in Music Education from the University of Georgia. I've studied with renowned jazz pianists, performed professionally throughout the United States and internationally, and served as a master clinician for the Gospel Music Workshop of America.
Over the years, I've taught students of all ages and skill levels—from complete beginners to church musicians and professional performers. My lessons are friendly, engaging, and designed to simplify complex musical concepts, helping students develop confidence, creativity, and a solid musical foundation. Through personalized online instruction, I'm passionate about helping aspiring pianists around the world achieve their musical goals and discover their own unique sound.

My method is a fast, easy, and innovative way to help you master your piano skills through proper training and regular practice. Playing the piano is a complex concept, but I can break it down into the simplest terms so you can understand it right away. In this course, you will learn the best and latest tools, techniques, and tricks of the piano to guide you to realize your unique sound and to play the piano in your favorite style. I will teach you musical notation and how to play by ear any songs you hear. We'll cover scales for improvisation, advanced gospel and jazz piano voicings, and keyboard harmony. I will help you understand music theory as you've never been told before. I will teach you the secrets of professional piano playing.
