About Karina
Hi there, my name is Karina! Before I tell you about myself, I first want to say how courageous and admirable it is that you have made the first step to getting a little extra support. It isn't easy asking for help and sometimes it feels terrifying. I know this because I was once in your shoes. During my senior year of high school, I experienced a significant amount of difficulty with grasping the concepts in chemistry class. I silently struggled to keep up but as time went on, I felt like I was drowning more and more. My guidance counselor helped me reach out to the nearby college in search of a chemistry tutor. Unbeknownst to me at the time, this was single-handedly the best experience I could have asked for. Not only did I receive one-on-one attention from a tutor that was knowledgeable in the area I needed help with, but I also gained incredible study skills that helped me navigate through my own college experience confidently!
Several years later, I am now one year away from graduating from a doctoral program in clinical psychology. Thus far, I have accumulated eight years of experience with math, analytical reading, and academic writing. Aside from my dream of becoming a psychologist, it is a passion of mine to help others who are in a similar situation to where I once was. I want to extend the knowledge I have gained thus far and provide you with study skills that will boost your confidence in school. I know it isn't always easy asking for help, which is why I give you so much credit for being here. Hello, my name is Karina and I’m a graduate student with a degree in neuroscience and psychology. I specialize in tutoring academic writing, analytical writing, ACT/SAT prep, and proofreading. I’m passionate about teaching writing skills and helping my students gain a better understanding of the fundamentals of different writing styles. I’m an experienced tutor and use an interactive approach, providing personalized instruction and guidance to help my students reach their full potential.
As an academic myself, I am strongly dedicated to helping my students achieve their academic goals and excel in their studies. Studying did not always come easy to me and it wasn't until I discovered what learning style fits me best that I began to feel confident with my academics. I want to cater to your strengths and help you find what works best for you so that you build long-lasting study skills that carry you throughout your education with confidence.
