About Juan

I studied Psychology at the University of Chile, where I specialized in Experimental Psychology and Neurosciences, as well as in Methodology of Research (quantitative approach). I was assistant of each one of these subjects during the undergraduate.

I did my professional practice in the Laboratory of Sleep and Chronobiology. I worked with sleep models and epilepsy.

Currently, I am a Doctorate student in Neurosciences at the Catholic University where I work in Brain Machine interfaces. Simultaneously I do research in teaching and education.

About the lesson

I can do theoretical classes, as practices adapting to the specific interests of the students. In this sense I have 3 types of classes:

(1) Tutorial format: oriented to data analysis where we work directly with the softwares and answer a series of theoretical-practical questions;

(2) Theoretical: linked to methodology, statistics and data analysis, this modality was performed in an expository manner;

(3) Counseling: intended to address specific questions or problems of the student (e.g. 'how to analyze the data of my thesis').

So my class is aimed at both thesis students and undergraduate students. Regarding the former, it is expected that it will seek to address a research problem of a quatitative nature.

Compartí con Juan durante alrededor de 4 años en el equipo de ayudantes de Estadística en Psicología, en la Universidad de Chile. Durante ese tiempo Juan siempre tuvo muy buena disposición no solo para enseñar a sus ayudados, sino que a sus compañeros de equipo (entre los que me incluyo). Tiene un manejo excepcional de los contenidos y siempre busca ir más allá, tratando de que sus estudiantes generen un aprendizaje significativo.

Es una persona muy paciente y que enseña por el gusto de ayudar a otro, no por el dinero.
