About Youssef

I have loved teaching since I was a child, when I would help other children and family members understand what they were learning. Over time, this grew into tutoring students, but my motivation has remained the same: I genuinely enjoy sharing knowledge and helping things make sense.
What I love most is conveying my enthusiasm for the subjects that fascinate me. I want students not only to understand a topic, but also to feel comfortable asking questions, exploring ideas and developing their own curiosity. Seeing someone gain confidence or finally grasp a difficult concept is especially rewarding.
I am here to offer patient, approachable and personalised support—whether you want to improve your grades, work through a challenging assignment or learn something new. Above all, I hope to make learning an enjoyable experience and share some of the passion that has driven my own studies.

I am a doctoral researcher in Political Economy at University College London, originally from Paris. I hold six degrees spanning Politics, Economics, Philosophy, Law, Applied Statistics for Social Sciences and Development Studies. Having studied at leading British and French universities, earned distinctions for my dissertations and published academic articles and institutional reports in English and French, I bring strong subject knowledge and research and writing skills to my teaching.
My tutoring experience includes teaching French and Mathematics to groups of undergraduate students at the University of Manchester, providing individual French tuition to learners of different levels, and teaching French to a tourist guide in Cairo. I am also accustomed to helping students understand coursework, approach assignments and prepare for exams.
My approach is friendly, patient and adaptable. I start by identifying each student’s goals and areas of difficulty, then tailor explanations, guided exercises and practice questions to their needs. For academic writing, I help students interpret questions, develop arguments, structure essays and use evidence effectively. Rather than simply providing answers, I aim to build understanding, confidence and independent thinking.
I offer in-person lessons in London and online tuition worldwide for secondary-school students, university students and adult learners. I teach my specialist subjects up to undergraduate level, French at different proficiency levels, and academic essay and dissertation-writing skills across the Social Sciences and Humanities. Lessons typically last one hour, with flexibility to accommodate individual needs and more focused exam preparation.
