About Natalia
I am a London-based poet with five published books, one of which was selected as book of the year in my country of origin, Chile. I mainly write in Spanish, but for the past years, I've been writing in English too, reading my English poems at the Tate Modern, National Poetry Library, the Poetry Foundation, the Fringe Festival, and the Victoria and Albert Museum, among others. I have a PhD, Master's, and Bachelor's degrees in literature from Universidad de Chile and a Master's in Creative Writing from Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona). In addition to my work as a poet, I am also a translator of Modern Greek, having translated books by Yannis Ritsos, Katherina Angelaki-Rouk, and others. I have been facilitating poetry writing workshops for over ten years in schools, universities, and the community. My workshops are open to everyone, whether they already write or are looking to develop their writing skills.

In every workshop, I provide students with new tools, reading material, a reflective discussion about the poetry's scope and in addition to this I set bespoke poetry assignments which suit the individual student. I am passionate about poetry and I feel a lot of satisfaction whenever I pass on my passion to others. My approach to teaching poetry is welcoming and encouraging. I consider everyone to be able to develop a poetic voice if they work at it and with themselves.
