About Naomi

I’ve been teaching guitar for more than 3 years, and I hold a Graduate Certificate in Advanced Guitar Studies. My greatest joy comes from helping students hear music in new ways. I focus heavily on ear training, transcribing, and musical awareness. In every session, we work on identifying chords, melodies, and rhythms by ear. I help students learn how to recognize progressions, pick out bass lines, and understand harmony through sound. My goal is to make them independent musicians who can play confidently without relying on sheet music. I also train students to develop pitch accuracy and eventually perfect pitch recognition. Lessons are hands-on and filled with real musical examples. We often break down famous solos or create our own variations. I emphasize creativity while grounding it in solid technique. My teaching style is relaxed, supportive, and focused on steady progress. Whether you’re learning your first song or decoding complex jazz voicings, I’m here to guide you every step.

About the lesson

My approach to guitar teaching centers around mastering the language of written music. I believe music reading opens the door to unlimited creativity and understanding. In my lessons, students learn to read both tablature and standard notation fluently. We work step by step through sight-reading exercises designed to improve speed and accuracy. I also teach rhythm notation, helping students interpret timing and feel. My method connects what you see on the page with what you play on the guitar. I’m especially experienced in guiding The Classical Purist toward detailed, expressive reading. The Jazz Explorer learns to decode complex chord symbols and syncopated rhythms with ease. I make reading interactive and musical, not mechanical. Lessons are filled with examples from real songs and pieces. My teaching style is supportive and adaptable to each student’s pace. By developing strong reading habits, students gain independence and confidence. Together, we turn written notes into living sound.
