About Lydia
Why do I spend my time teaching guitar instead of just staying on the road? After years of playing in real-world settings, I enjoy helping students understand what it takes to become a confident, functional player.
Do you ever wonder how some players stay relaxed while tackling complex chord transitions or soloing under pressure? I help intermediate students bridge that gap by focusing on practical techniques that work in real musical environments.
My coaching style is laid-back and centered on keeping the music functional rather than academic. You’ll build useful skills, play with greater confidence, and develop your own musical voice along the way.

Your first session involves us sitting down to map out your current comfort with scales and modes. We keep things straightforward by focusing on rhythm and strumming patterns that you can actually use in a band setting.
Since I hold a Diploma in Music Performance and have gigged for 13 years, I know exactly which technical hurdles usually trip up new players. I provide a monthly recorded review of your progress so you can track your growth over time. Does this approach align with how you want to handle your growth on the instrument?
