About Ella

I have spent over six years helping students find joy and healing through a deeply personalized connection with the violin. I hold a Doctor of Musical Arts in Violin Performance, but my actual teaching style goes far beyond just perfect classical technique. I teach my students how to use drone practice effectively to match their notes perfectly with a constant reference pitch.

This detailed approach is perfect for pop performers who need clean melodies over modern tracks and vocalists looking to match their singing lines. For example, I recently worked with a singer who wanted to learn the violin but kept playing their high notes slightly flat. We set up a low drone sound on their phone and practiced sliding up to the correct pitch until their ears recognized the sweet spot.

Within just a couple of weeks, they were shifting into higher positions with absolute clarity and playing with a beautiful, ringing tone.
