About Iman
Hello!
My current students would describe me as hardworking, thorough, diligent, passionate, and organized. I do feel I go the extra mile for my students to ensure that each student’s needs are taken into account and that they are provided with the resources required to succeed.
I have grown up in the U.K., Kenya, and Pakistan. I completed the IB diploma, scoring in the top 3% and I am currently studying Geography and Environmental Management on the University of Toronto's most prestigious full scholarship awarded to international students that demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, creativity, extra-curricular engagement, leadership and community involvement.
I tutor Geography, English, and Environmental Systems and Societies as an employee of Lanterna, an online U.K. based IB tutoring company. I also teach at my religious classes, have been a counselor at several summer camps, and volunteered at multiple schools in Kenya and India teaching English.
My teaching style varies per student, I make sure to ask each of my students their learning preferences before teaching new material. I often prepare quizlets and powerpoints for my students and work with them to produce condensed notes for their exams. I also advise students on how to effectively use resources that are available to them as well as provide them with exam technique tips.
I believe that my desire to help others succeed, my IB scores, previous teaching, and peer-editing experience, and most importantly my passion for the subjects I teach make me a successful tutor.

Iman was an amazing tutor and helped me in both Geography and English. She would ask for the topics and skills I wanted to work on in advance and would tailor sessions to my learning, ensuring I understood all the content. She also helped me create study guides for both subjects and would go through practise questions with me so I could get used the exam paper format. She was unbelievably helpful and I don't know what I would've done without her.
