About Jamie-Lee
I am passionate about the English language and English literature. I have lived in South Africa, Ireland, Wales and Thailand and as a result of this, I adapt easily to new environments and learn new languages quickly. I enjoy travelling and learning about different cultures and traditions. My hobbies include horse riding, gymnastics, reading, creative writing, photography and travel. I am an enthusiastic and energetic aspiring young teacher who is passionate about English literature and helping young adults develop into fully capable and contributing members of society. I am always eager to gain knowledge and I enjoy helping children to thrive and learn. I am a dedicated, reliable individual that always gives my best to any situation. I am patient and a hard worker as I find it very rewarding when I can help a learner in any way.
I hold both a Bachelor of the Arts Degree in English and a Postgraduate Certificate of Education from the University of Pretoria. In addition to this, I have completed the Level 5, 180-hour, TEFL course which I believe will help me tremendously with the position that I am applying for.
I have prior experience as I worked as a teacher’s assistant in Regents International School Pattaya in Thailand for one year where I supported teachers in the classroom. In addition to this, I worked for six weeks at Pretoria High School for Girls and six weeks at Curro Tatchfield as part of my PGCE. Whilst in Thailand, I gained First Aid experience and received my Child Protection Awareness in Education Certificate and completed the EduCare Health & Safety Programme.
