About Blair

I earned a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Studies and a Master of Music in Contemporary Guitar Studies. During the past 6 years, I have helped students strengthen technique, improve musical understanding, and gain confidence in their playing. My interest in guitar began through performance experiences, songwriting projects, and a fascination with how music can communicate emotion. Teaching allows me to share that passion while supporting learners on their own creative journeys. Helping students discover new abilities continues to motivate me every day.

My teaching philosophy focuses on making learning enjoyable, practical, and meaningful. I understand that every student learns differently, so lessons are tailored to individual goals and learning styles. Technical exercises are always connected to musical application so that students understand the purpose behind their practice. Learners receive encouragement and guidance that helps them grow steadily and confidently. This creates a positive environment where learning feels productive and rewarding.

Outside teaching, I enjoy composing music, studying different guitar traditions, and collaborating with other musicians. These experiences bring fresh ideas into my lessons and keep learning relevant. Watching students overcome challenges and reach important milestones is deeply satisfying. I strive to make every lesson engaging and supportive. My goal is to help learners develop skills that inspire a lifelong love of music.

About the lesson

My guitar lessons focus on helping students become expressive and confident musicians while building strong technical foundations. Learning guitar should feel exciting and rewarding, so I use storytelling, humor, musical examples, and practical demonstrations to keep lessons engaging. Students develop skills in vibrato control, string bending, solo phrasing, tone creation, rhythm precision, fretboard awareness, and performance preparation. Rather than simply practicing exercises, learners discover how techniques work within real music. This approach creates a deeper understanding of both playing and musical expression.

Every student follows a learning path designed around personal goals and interests. Some learners want to improve lead guitar skills, while others focus on rhythm playing, improvisation, or stage confidence. Lessons include ear training, creative exercises, guided practice sessions, song analysis, and performance-focused activities. Students receive constructive feedback and practical advice that supports continuous improvement. Clear milestones help learners track progress while staying motivated and inspired throughout their musical development.

My goal is to help students enjoy music while building lasting skills and confidence. As learners become more comfortable with their instruments, they gain greater freedom to express themselves creatively. Lessons encourage curiosity, discipline, and self-belief. Every accomplishment becomes a stepping stone toward stronger musicianship. I want students to feel excited about their growth and proud of their achievements.
