About Jessica
I am a dedicated person centred tutor with 6 years experience in delivering one-to-one and group sessions to a wide range of clients with varying learning needs. As an experienced tutor, I have developed a passion for helping individuals succeed in their personal and professional development.
Specialising in employability skills and peer support, I am well versed in creating highly effective personal and professional development sessions, facilitating clients in achieving their unique goals. My employability and education support sessions include exploring character strengths, effective job searching and skills matching, confidence building, creating cover letters and CVs, exploring interview techniques, essay and dissertation writing and technology assistance. My peer support sessions include mentoring and befriending services, exploring character strengths, confidence building and songwriting. I have personal and professional experience with specific learning difficulties and mental health conditions such as dyspraxia, anxiety and depression.
My teaching style demonstrates a strengths-based approach, facilitating clients to explore their potential in a positive and welcoming learning environment. I encourage clients to challenge their curiosity and passion for learning, adapting my teaching methods to differentiate for individual needs. I build trust with my clients and work with them to identify their unique learning styles, goals, and aspirations with an overall objective of helping them move towards paid employment, increasing their social opportunities, developing their confidence and identifying their unique strengths. In my approaches I am dedicated promoting inclusion, diversity and equality.
