About Souvik

As a student-focused teacher, I guide learners with patience, breaking down complex compositions into understandable parts, while also explaining the history and feel behind each taal. Whether it's solo tabla playing, jugalbandi, accompaniment, or teaching, I aim to keep the tradition alive while exploring new creative spaces in rhythm.

About the lesson

I am a dedicated and passionate professional tabla player with a strong foundation in both traditional and contemporary tabla styles. Trained in the classical Guru-Shishya Parampara, my playing reflects years of disciplined riyaz (practice), an understanding of taal (rhythm cycles), and a deep respect for the Indian classical music heritage.

With experience performing at cultural events, stage shows, classical recitals, and collaborations with vocalists, instrumentalists, and dancers, I bring rhythm to life through my fingers. My playing spans Vilambit to Drut, Teentaal to Rupak, exploring gats, tukras, and tihais with clarity, precision, and emotion.
