About Kennedy
Fourteen years as a quant in renewable energy taught me that clarity beats cleverness every single time. My desk is currently covered in hardware schematics and old journals from my time at UC Berkeley finishing my Master of Science in Data Science.
I am neurodivergent and I have learned to build systems that respect how my brain functions best. Working with university students and advanced AP candidates allows me to bridge the gap between academic theory and the harsh reality of FAANG interview loops. I find that most people overcomplicate their logic before they even write a single line of code.
Five years spent in machine learning engineering at a major firm have sharpened my ability to diagnose where a student is stuck within seconds. I enjoy the process of stripping away the noise to find the actual bug in the logic.

You will find that my sessions prioritize raw technical accuracy over superficial explanations. We start by deconstructing your current code block to see exactly where the underlying logic fails to hold up. Competitive programming requires a specific mindset that differs significantly from standard classroom web development. JavaScript and SQL databases serve as our primary tools for examining how data flows through a distributed system.
Given my background in quantitative finance, I expect you to move past memorization and begin thinking like a software architect. My degree from UC Berkeley ensures that the theory we discuss remains grounded in verifiable computer science principles. Adults and competition-focused students often find this blunt approach saves them hours of fruitless debugging.
Intermediate learners receive specific tasks to build their capacity for independent problem solving. Perhaps you want to reach out to schedule a time to talk about your current roadblocks.
