About Lauren
Hi, I’m Lauren! I’m currently studying a Bachelor of Cybersecurity and have been tutoring English for three years. I achieved a Band 6 in English Advanced with a mark of 91/100 and ranked 4th internally.
I’ve worked with students across a wide range of ages and abilities, with most of my experience in Years 3–8. Over the years, I’ve helped many students improve both their confidence and academic performance, with several improving by at least one band.
I aim to be the kind of tutor students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes around. I’m friendly, patient and approachable, but I also make sure lessons stay focused and productive. I’ve received lots of positive feedback from students and parents for being warm and engaging while still providing clear guidance and honest feedback.
Outside of tutoring, I love being creative! I crochet stuffed animals in my spare time and also enjoy playing tennis.

Lessons are typically 60 minutes long, although this can be adjusted depending on the student’s age, needs and goals.
My lessons are structured around each student’s individual needs and what they are currently working on at school. We’ll usually begin by reviewing schoolwork, homework or a recent assessment to identify areas for improvement. From there, I explicitly teach the relevant skill, work through examples together, and then give the student a chance to apply it independently with guidance and feedback.
I can help with reading comprehension, essay and paragraph structure, creative and persuasive writing, textual analysis, grammar, homework, assessment preparation and exam technique. I also provide detailed feedback on written work, helping students understand not only what to improve, but how to improve it.
I have three years of tutoring experience and focus on creating lessons that are friendly and engaging while still structured and productive. My aim is to build each student’s confidence and give them practical skills they can use independently at school
