About Evita
Hiya!
My name is Evita and I am currently a first-year student at the University of Nottingham.
I am studying a Modern Languages with Business degree, which includes Spanish (post-a level) and Mandarin (intermediate) as my major; business as the minor.
Learning languages is one of my many passions, which I find enjoyable, because not only is it interesting to learn how to communicate with other people in the world, it opens many doors in the professional world. English is something that I have particularly excelled in over the years and I remember finding English Literature most interesting in school.
One of my future aspirations is to become a Translator or Interpreter, as it will allow me to travel and utilise these important language skills.
Apart from language learning, I have many other interests in hobbies such as:
- listening to music (mainly latino music, kpop and R&B)
- reading
- cooking/baking
- art
- fashion
Through this tutoring experience, my aim is to share my knowledge in English and encourage you on your studying journey, as well as being someone that can give you sound advice along the way. Most of all, I hope to make English literature and language a less tedious subject and help you to gain even more confidence in the subject.

My teaching methods would cover:
- Going over the basic syllabus (I studied from the AQA* exam board at school, but happy to teach from others)
- Going through key quotes/themes + extended quotes that can optimise marks
- Going through required essay structures + extended, again to maximise marks
- Going through analysis techniques
- Providing exam/revision tips and guidance
- Using past paper/exam style questions
- Support with the Spoken Language Endorsement GCSE English requirement
- General advice that helped me to achieve a Grade 8 (A*) & 7 (A) in GCSE English Lit + Lang
A typical session would last 1hr, to begin with I would talk the student through their strengths/weaknesses so that we know which areas to focus our sessions on.
I have had previous tutoring experience with this subject in Sixth Form, where I mentored and tutored Year 11 students in their final term before exams.
These lessons will be catered towards GCSE students (Year 10/11)
