About Isabel
I studied Russian for both GCSE and A-Level and I am now studying Russian as part of my joint honours degree. I am an enthusiastic and hard-working student about to enter my third year at university.
As a tutor, I would like to use my ability to help other students of all ages and levels in their study of languages.

I believe that learning a language should be fun and so I aim to tailor all my lessons to the individual, whether you are a beginner or have been learning Russian for a few years. This means that each student can get the most out of every lesson and still enjoy learning Russian!
Russian is a beautiful but complex language. I like to use a variety of exercises and activities in every lesson to avoid endless lists and repetition. Speaking is, of course, also a crucial part of learning any language and so we will speak some Russian every lesson. This could be a few of the words we have learnt that day, or a full conversation - depending on the level at which you're studying.
Learning about the culture of a country comes hand-in-hand with learning the language. Russia has a rich culture and I like to acknowledge this in my lessons. This could include activities from listening to songs or reading poems in Russian to looking at pictures of Russian festivals and celebrations. Progress is important, but we will work at the pace which is enjoyable and right for you.
