Name: Shoutaro Tsujiyama

Currently a member of the Japanese Exchange Group, where he continues to exchange with foreign exchange students who are interested in learning about Japanese culture. Therefore, teaching Japanese is fun for me and I want my students to enjoy learning Japanese.

I was born and raised in Japan and am a native speaker of Japanese. I have also always loved reading books and hold a kanji qualification called Kanken. Therefore, I believe I can give clear advice on kanji and vocabulary.

About the lesson

If students want to practise speaking, but do not have a topic they want to talk about, they can use the Japanese Ministry of Culture materials to learn how to speak in different situations. They practise by analysing the words they don't understand and what words they could use to make it more natural.

If the student wants to learn writing, I decide on a topic to write about and then review the essay they have written. If there are any questions during the writing process, we will answer them.

If the student wants to improve their vocabulary, I will choose a textbook that is appropriate for their level, prepare the textbook for them and help them improve their vocabulary by answering their questions.

Each lecture lasts one hour. In the first session, I give them time to understand what level they want to learn and what is difficult for them by having them take a short test.

Also, when I was at an international school, albeit in high school, I taught Japanese to students from abroad. It was not official, but the duration of the experience was about a year.

There is no specific target age group, but for the target level, I will be recruiting for N3~N5.

Perfect! Shotaro understands I need a study Japanese to achieve an N5 level for the JLPT. He even recommended textbooks I might need. Not all tutors accommodate for this type of study, it's great that Shotaro does.
