About Nicole
I'm currently 20 years old and studying Economics BSc at the University of York. Originally from Durham, I moved to York for Uni and absolutely love it.
I am currently tutoring a GCSE maths student and As level economics student, so have time to potentially take on up to another 2 students depending on individual needs.
Still being in the education system myself, I have a good feel for the best teaching and learning methods for individuals. I have volunteered teaching lessons in secondary schools through the national charity Sexpression. The lessons I have taught are centred around consent, abusive relationship, STIs, and aim to educate young adults on sensitive topics. I have a full DBS check in order to do so (proof can be shown on request).

I approach each topic by trying to understand the individuals best way of learning, and hope that by exploring several methods that could be used in answering a question to help the student find a way which works for them. Extra work outside sessions can be arranged, i.e paper marking, homework help etc...
With my current students, we tend to set work we're going to do the following week at the end of a session, even if this just means briefly mentioning a few topics as this allows me to prepare work. Each student has independent needs and this is something I try and get to grips with in the first few sessions to be able to set up a 'plan of action' This involves what kind of sessions are best (past papers, content heavy, quick fire questions...), and how many sessions a student wants to reach their goals.
