About Luca
I'm a first-year student at UCL studying Economics, Law and Russian. I completed the IB at an international school in Spain, finishing with 43 points and 7s in all three HLs, including Economics, so I know the course, its assessments and its pressures from first-hand experience. I have published my own IB Economics tutoring website, online content and study resources. Tutoring both privately and in groups at school has taught me to make complex concepts understandable.
At school I was a student ambassador, MUN president, and head of the environmental committee. I have since taken on work experience at the World Economic Forum and at commodity trading firms which has given me a real-world view of the economic issues the IB covers. I speak English, Spanish and French, so I'm comfortable working with international students and families.
I'm patient, approachable and easy to talk to. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, because that's when real progress happens.

Having taken IB Economics HL myself and scored a 7, I know where students lose marks and how to fix it. My lessons focus on what actually matters in the exam: understanding the theory clearly, drawing and explaining diagrams properly, and structuring answers the way examiners want, particularly for Paper 1 essays and the data response questions in Paper 2. For HL students, I also cover the quantitative skills needed for Paper 3.
Every lesson is adapted to the student. Some need help building the basics from the start, while others want to push from a 5 or 6 up to a 7. I can also support the Internal Assessment, from choosing a good news article to linking it clearly to the key concepts.
I use real-world examples and structured notes to make economics easier to understand and remember. Lessons are available online.

My standard rate is £29 per hour. Any additional hour in the same session is £25.
Group lessons are available at £12 per hour for each additional student.
Reduced rates are available on request for students who cannot afford the full fee.
