About Kate

As a dedicated tutor with a strong academic background and leadership experience, I bring professionalism, expertise, and guaranteed success to every session. With years of experience in AP courses, competing in high-level debate, and leading activism movements in international studies and law, I understand what it takes to succeed. I have mentored students through programs like Miami Dade Teen Court and co-founded a nonprofit, demonstrating my passion for helping others grow. Fluent in English, Russian, Ukrainian, and Spanish, I can effectively communicate with diverse learners, ensuring clarity and engagement. My approach is structured yet flexible, focusing on critical thinking, real-world applications, and personalized strategies that empower students to excel. Whether you're a parent seeking support for your child, preparing for AP exams or refining your writing, I am here to provide the support and confidence you need to reach your full potential.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is centered on adaptability, engagement, and critical thinking. I tailor each lesson to the student's learning style, breaking down complex topics into manageable steps while encouraging active participation. A typical session begins with a quick review of previous material, followed by a clear explanation of new concepts using real-world examples and interactive discussions. I guide students through practice problems, gradually increasing their independence to build confidence and problem-solving skills. What sets me apart is my ability to connect lessons to broader contexts, whether through my background in law and international studies or my multilingual abilities in English, Russian, Ukrainian, and Spanish. My tutoring is best suited for high school students and below, particularly in AP courses, social sciences, and writing. I have a lot of experience teaching elementary school kids, so I am very comfortable with the younger demographic and altered teaching methods. Most importantly, I hope to foster curiosity and independent thinking, ensuring students not only understand the material but also gain more appreciation for learning.

Kate, tutored my youngest daughter for a few months. She was struggling with schoolwork and fell behind in math in reading. Kate diligently worked with her weekly, using a lot of real-life application exercises and fun methods of learning to incite memorization and understanding. After only a few weeks, I saw my daughter improve tremendously and even achieved some of her previously set long term goals. I would 100 percent recommend!!
