About Grace
I'm Grace, a third-year university student studying English Literature, and I want to be a tutor as I love how rewarding it is to work with students to improve their English skills and achieve the results they've been striving towards. I like to take a relaxed approach to my teaching, focusing on taking the time to develop confidence and capability in English. This can be done through completing GCSE past paper questions together (KS4), or working on descriptive writing tasks and passage analysis (KS3). Most importantly, I love English! As I intend to undertake a Secondary English PGCE next year to become a qualified teacher, I am passionate about the subject and am able to relate easier to the students being relatively young myself. I also received grade 9s in both English Language and Literature at GCSE, and an A in A Level English Literature.

I provide a personalised approach with my tutoring- my first session will be getting to know the student and figuring out what learning method works best for them, then adapting lessons to fit accordingly. My lessons will typically span for an hour but can be flexible depending on availability. My lessons are aimed at KS3 and KS4, and I can provide personalised lessons for students on their specific GCSE English Literature texts. I have hands-on experience volunteering in the English department of my former secondary school, so I understand how to tailor lessons to suit a student's needs and the appropriate level of lesson for a student depending on year group. I can also provide access to personal Quizlet flashcards to aid with GCSE English Literature revision.
