About George
I have completed two years of General Engineering at Cambridge University, and although it sounds cliché, the last two years have caused me to develop a love for my subject. This has helped me achieve a First Class grade in both first and second year.
I am also aware that the preceding paragraph may potentially make me not sound like much fun but I would beg to differ. I will try to make all lessons interesting and thought-provoking in order for them to impart the most knowledge per hour of tuition.
The best review I can give of myself is that of my younger sister who once faithfully told me "You're better at teaching this than most of my maths department at school", so either she's telling the truth, or she felt the need to pay me a compliment after I'd spent the last 45 minutes explaining why the quadratic formula works!

An Engineering interview or admissions exam can be a daunting prospect, so it will come as no surprise that the best preparation for them is practice. Having been successful in both 4 years ago, I know what is required to put yourself in the best possible position to ace it on the day!
I have 3 years experience tutoring in Maths and Engineering and have found that the best method of improving in these areas is to be challenged with questions which encourage a level of thinking above that which you generally face throughout school:
Why are you using this method to solve this question?
How would the answer change if we didn't ignore air resistance? or if the string wasn't inextensible?
A typical lesson would be 1 hour of technical discussion, which would heavily feature calculation, as these are of course central to all Engineering questions.
These sessions are aimed at students studying A-Levels, or IB who are looking to get the best possible preparation for an engineering interview or exam in order to study undergraduate Engineering
