About Natalia

Hi, I am Natalia. I am a writer, researcher, and university tutor (+sessional lecturer) who loves helping students find confidence and clarity in their writing. I currently teach at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), tutoring and lecturing in cultural studies, ethics, and academic writing. Before that, I taught at Deakin University. I'm a PhD candidate with the University of Wollongong and UNSW. I have worked on documentary and research projects for film and television in Australia and the UK. I have always been drawn to studying the humanities and the way it can shape stories, arguments, and ideas, and that is the same energy I bring to my classes. My approach is calm, structured, and encouraging. I aim to help students understand not just what to write, but why it matters. I enjoy seeing students realize that English, history, etc. are not about memorizing and can actually be creative, expressive, and even fun. If you are looking for someone who can meet you where you are and/or online and help you improve your writing, reading, and critical thinking, I would love to work with you.

About the lesson

My classes are built around connection and clarity, as I like to understand how each student learns before deciding what to teach next.

Whether you’re in high school or at university, every lesson is tailored to your goals and pace. I enjoy learning and especially exchanging knowledge, so I will endeavour to make this experience the same to you.

I focus on building confidence in English reading and comprehension skills through discussion- and then writing. For essay writing, I help students break down structure and argument, learning how to express ideas clearly and with style. For reading and literature, we look at themes, characters, and meaning, always in a way that feels alive, not mechanical.

A typical lesson runs for one hour, but I can adjust depending on focus or assignment deadlines. My classes often include a mix of conversation, exercises, text analysis, and guided feedback, so you leave each session with something tangible to work on (and I'm always happy for you to follow up with me).

I’m currently a university tutor and sessional lecturer teaching cultural studies, ethics, and law within arts and culture sector. I’ve also mentored students in essay writing, referencing, and research methods for several years (both in Australia and the UK).

My lessons are ideal for:
High school students wanting to strengthen reading and essay-writing skills
University students improving academic writing and argument structure
Adults or ESL learners aiming to refine writing confidence

All level students wanting support with history, debate, arts history, philosophy, ethics and literature.
