About Madelynne

I’m Madelynne Cornish, an Accredited Practitioner Coach, audiovisual artist, facilitator and mentor based in Victoria, Australia.

I have maintained a professional audiovisual art practice since 2012, developing projects that explore sound, place and environment. My work has given me first-hand experience of the creative process: developing ideas, working through uncertainty, responding when a project changes direction and continuing to evolve a practice over time.

I am also co-founder of the Bogong Centre for Sound Culture, where for 15 years I facilitated an international residency program for artists and researchers. Through this work, I have spent many years in conversation with creative practitioners at different stages of their careers, encountering the many different ways people approach their work, ideas and creative lives.

I trained with Noble Manhattan Coaching. My approach to creativity coaching is client-centered, bringing my professional coaching training together with my experience as a practicing artist and facilitator.

I understand that a creative practice rarely follows a straight line. Ideas change, uncertainty is part of the process, blocks arise, and sometimes the questions surrounding the work become as important as the work itself.

Creativity coaching provides a space to explore those questions, hear yourself think and discover what feels right for your own practice and where you want to take it next.

About the lesson

A creative practice is rarely a straight line.

Yours may be thriving, changing direction, feeling stuck or somewhere in between.

You may be developing an idea, experiencing a creative block, questioning work that once felt important, wondering where your practice is heading or simply wanting to make more space for creativity in your life.

Creative Coaching gives you somewhere to step outside the work for a moment and think about the bigger picture. Through conversation, careful listening and thoughtful questions, we explore what is happening in your creative life, what matters to you and what possibilities you may not yet have considered.

Each session begins with what you want to explore that day. You might bring an idea, a decision, a challenge, a change in direction or something you've been noticing about yourself and your practice. You don't need to arrive knowing the answer. We begin with where you are.

While coaching remains at the heart of our work together, I also offer blended coaching and mentoring. My professional experience as an artist, facilitator and mentor can bring another perspective to our conversations through relevant experience, observations, resources or suggestions.

Creative Coaching & Mentoring is for women who value creativity in their lives—from those who create for personal enjoyment to emerging, mid-career and established artists and creative practitioners. This includes self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants where it aligns with their NDIS goals and available funding.

Sessions are 60 minutes and are generally held fortnightly, giving you time between conversations to reflect, experiment and notice what happens in your practice. I work with clients over a minimum of four sessions, allowing ideas, questions and possibilities to develop over time.

Sessions are held online, and I work with women in Australia and internationally.
