About Madelynne

I’m Madelynne Cornish, an Accredited Practitioner Coach, audiovisual artist, facilitator and mentor based in Victoria, Australia.

My Creative Coaching & Mentoring brings together professional coach training and more than a decade of experience as a practising artist working within the arts.

I trained with Noble Manhattan Coaching and am an Accredited Practitioner Coach with IAPC&M.

I have maintained a professional audiovisual art practice since 2012, developing projects exploring sound, place and environment. In 2024, my collaborative exhibition Between Two Sites won Small Project of the Year [Gallery] at the Victorian Museums & Galleries Awards. I also have experience successfully developing and securing funding for arts projects.

As Co-founder of the Bogong Centre for Sound Culture, I facilitated an international residency program for artists and researchers for 15 years. Through this work, I have worked alongside artists at different stages of their careers through residencies, exhibitions, creative projects and mentoring.

These different strands of my professional life come together in my Creative Coaching & Mentoring practice.

I understand from experience that a creative practice rarely follows a straight line. Ideas change, projects evolve, uncertainty is part of the process and sometimes the questions surrounding the work become as important as the work itself.

I work with women who value creativity in their lives, from those who create for personal enjoyment to emerging, mid-career and established artists and creative practitioners.

My practice is inclusive of women with disability, and I welcome different ways of thinking, communicating, creating and engaging with a creative practice

About the lesson

Your creative practice may be thriving, changing direction, feeling stuck or somewhere in between.

You may be developing an idea, experiencing a creative block, questioning work that once felt important, considering a new direction or simply wanting to make more space for creativity in your life.

Each session begins with what you want to explore that day. You might bring an idea, a decision, a challenge, a project, a change in direction or something you've been noticing about yourself and your creative practice.

You don't need to arrive knowing the answer. We begin with where you are.

Through conversation, careful listening and thoughtful questions, we'll explore what's happening in your creative life, what matters to you and what possibilities you may not yet have considered.

While coaching remains at the heart of our work together, I also offer blended coaching and mentoring. When useful, I can draw on my professional experience as an artist, facilitator and mentor to share relevant experience, observations, resources or suggestions for you to consider.

This might include conversations around developing creative ideas and projects, maintaining a creative practice, exhibitions, residencies, grant applications and some of the practical and professional questions that can arise as an artist or creative practitioner.

The direction remains yours. Mentoring adds another perspective while leaving you free to decide what is useful and what you want to do next.

Sessions are 60 minutes and are generally held fortnightly, giving you time between conversations to reflect, experiment and notice what happens in your practice. I work with clients for a minimum of four sessions, allowing ideas, questions and possibilities to develop over time.

Creative Coaching & Mentoring is an inclusive service for adult women, including women with disability. Self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants are welcome where the service aligns with their NDIS goals and available funding.

Sessions are held online, and I work with women across Australia and internationally.
