About Sam
As a vocal instructor with over 8 years of teaching experience and a BM in Jazz Vocal Performance, I offer personalized singing lessons for performers at all stages. I work with school students, college singers, and adult or professional vocalists. My focus is musical theater and Broadway performance, where singing is deeply connected to acting and presence. I help students develop character through song, guiding them to tell stories with honesty and clarity. Stage presence is a major focus, and I support singers in building confidence and focus. I specialize in belt technique, ensuring it is developed safely and sustainably. Vocal agility is another key area of my teaching, preparing singers for fast transitions and demanding material. My jazz training supports strong ear training, harmony skills, improvisation, and music theory knowledge. These tools help singers become versatile and confident musicians. I believe every voice is unique and deserves thoughtful guidance. My lessons are interactive, encouraging, and designed around individual goals. My approach to teaching singing focuses on communication and emotional honesty. Every song tells a story, and the singer is the messenger. Technique is taught to support freedom and clarity. I work especially well with expressive and narrative music, including styles similar to Fiddler on the Roof and The Music Man. I dedicate time to refining how singers emotionally move listeners. Lessons are supportive and focused. I help students feel confident sharing emotion through their voice. My role is to guide steady growth and clear communication. Singing becomes personal and powerful. Students truly embody their songs.
