About Lars
With 6 years of teaching experience and over 150 students guided, I am a flute tutor who believes in combining technical mastery with creativity. I teach all levels, helping students develop breath control, tone, finger technique, and rhythm while fostering improvisation and musical expression. Lessons are personalised to each student’s strengths, interests, and goals, ensuring effective learning and consistent growth.
I also cover music theory, sight-reading, and performance preparation, helping students gain confidence on stage and in practice. My goal is to inspire students to play beautifully, skilfully, and passionately.

My flute teaching methodology is centred on flexibility, collaboration, and encouragement. I begin by understanding each student’s learning style and adapting lessons to their individual needs, ensuring learning is both effective and enjoyable.
Flexibility is key in my approach. I adjust lesson plans, repertoire, and exercises to match each student’s pace, progress, and goals. Collaboration is emphasised through duets, group activities, and ensemble practice, helping students build confidence, timing, and musical expression. Positivity guides every session, fostering a supportive environment where students feel empowered to experiment, overcome challenges, and celebrate successes.
In addition to flute instruction, I provide lessons in music theory, sight-reading, rhythm exercises, and ear training. This holistic approach balances technical development with creative expression, helping students develop into skilled, confident, and passionate musicians with a lifelong love for music.
