About Max
I've been making comics and graphic novels for 30 years, with over 40 published works, three grants, a few award nominations and lots of experience. Comics are a deceptively complex medium with a lot of working parts, published in a very dysfunctional industry and market. I can offer very experienced mentorship thought the former, and some guidance with what to expect and some options how to navigate it all for the later.

This subject is really for more adventurous students prepared to commit to the long haul. It takes a while to learn all the things you will need to make competent comics and write good stories, and often a good while longer to get them published. I teach how to do those things, but also how to have the patience to get there and the best way to approach the work. Almost anyone can make good comics, if they have the grit for the work.
