My approach to tutoring is structured but flexible. I focus on helping students understand concepts clearly rather than just memorize them, using discussion, real-world examples, and straightforward explanations to make the material more approachable. I adapt each session to the student’s goals—whether that’s preparing for exams, keeping up with class, or building a stronger foundation in psychology.
A typical session starts with a quick check-in to identify what the student is working on or finding challenging. From there, I walk through key concepts step by step, using examples and questions to keep the session interactive and engaging. I often draw on lecture slides I’ve developed from teaching Intro Psychology, along with carefully selected videos when helpful, to explain topics like social psychology, development, and other core areas in a clear way.
What sets me apart is my experience teaching Introductory Psychology at the university level and my training in counseling and sport and performance psychology. I focus on making psychology feel relevant and understandable, rather than overwhelming, so students can feel more confident in their coursework.
My lessons are designed for high school and undergraduate students taking psychology courses, especially introductory or core classes.
