About Gretchen

Having taught 232 students over 3 years, I have seen every possible roadblock when it comes to putting thoughts onto paper. Ink hits the page as a messy blur of half-baked ideas before we polish them into something meaningful.

My work with independent artists and beginners has sharpened my ability to diagnose exactly why a song feels stuck. I draw on my BA Commercial Music degree to ensure that the theory we discuss actually serves the song rather than complicating it.

It is fulfilling to watch a complete beginner move from total silence to a fully realised track. My background includes 3 years of hands-on coaching with diverse creators from bedroom producers to professional songwriters.

Whether you are a content creator or a home studio owner, I enjoy the process of clearing away the creative clutter. These 232 students have taught me as much as I have taught them about the nature of a good hook. I am personally dedicated to the craft of turning raw emotion into a disciplined structure. It is a genuine privilege to watch the lightbulb turn on when a verse finally clicks into place.

I use my 3 years of experience to help you navigate rhyme schemes and metre without losing the soul of the track. You will learn to write over chords with confidence while focusing on imagery and detail. Collaboration is at the heart of what I do. I truly love the sound of a song coming together.
