About Elizabeth
Hello! I've been teaching English online as a second language in the Far East for 4 years at all levels from starter to advanced, youngsters and adults, with nearly 4000 hours experience . I specialise in discussion around specified topics to promote pupil confidence in fluency and ability to communicate effectively.
My background is in the Hospitality industry, both customer-facing and financial reporting (I have a Bachelor of Commerce degree with multiple top-up qualifications and diplomas in the years since). In 2012 I stopped working to write (mainly fiction) under the name EJ Lamprey and did a TEFL diploma course (with distinction) in 2017, teaching part-time ever since. I also sense-check written presentations (reports, CVs, profiles, etc.) for flow and grammatical accuracy.
I've travelled a great deal and lived in three different countries so I do completely understand the priorities (and challenges) of learning a second language - I live most of the year now in Spain.
Whilst I can tutor (and edit) in the minutiae and complexities of English grammar, my forte is colloquial fluency and my lessons are a balance between attention to detail, and confidence in speech.
