About Tracy

I am a concert pianist and organist who holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance from The Ohio State University. I began studying piano at age 4 and have toured extensively as both a pianist and organist in the United States, China, Italy, the Netherlands, and streamed my performance of Alexander Scriabin’s Piano Concerto Op. 20 at the International Scriabin 150 Festival. Recently, I was invited to perform on the Müller organ at St. Bavo Church in Haarlem, Netherlands in July 2024. I held a private teaching studio of 15 students in Columbus when I was located in Ohio. I initiated several projects like "Chinese Music on Organs," "Music She Wrote," and "Musical Trauma and Recovery."

About the lesson

I offer quality, personalized piano instruction and music theory to students ranging from beginners to pre-college levels. My teaching covers a wide range of musical styles, including classical, spiritual, pop, folk, musical theater, jazz, and improvisation. I customize arrangements to match each student’s interests and skill level. Students at my studio have free access to all of my arrangements. My studio is committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in our repertoire and teaching. The studio will have two studio recitals every year. They are usually at an auditorium, a church, or a nursing home. A typical lesson plan will be 70% of assigned pieces by me and 30% of students' interested pieces (for beginners), or 50% of assigned pieces by me and 50% of students' interested pieces (for adults or experienced students). I also offer a family plan. If multiple students from the same family enroll or if a student refers another new student, different accounts will be added to the monthly piano lesson fees after successful enrollment.

Both my kids have taken piano lessons from Tracy since kindergarten. She is very professional and tries to make lessons fun for the young kids. We are sad that she moved to another state but we will try to continue taking lessons from her online.
