About Claire
I am a graduate at University of California, Irvine. I have a major in public health sciences. I have had previous experience working with kids and I have 4+ years of tutoring/teaching experience!
I have performed the piano for 14+ years and have learned advanced music theory for nearly 9 years. I attended New England Conservatory and won international competitions performing at Carnegie Hall three times in my years as a serious concert pianist. I also love kids!

As a tutor, my hope is to create an engaging and supportive learning environment where students excel and improve while comfortable and confident in their abilities. My teaching methods will vary according to the unique needs and learning styles of each individual student. Here's an overview of my approach:
1. Learning student and parents' target of interest
2. Learning students' learning style
3. Establishing level and goal
4. Technique, music reading and theory, musicality practice
5. Student is given opportunities to try with my help
6. Assigning practice and feedback
7. Will set checkpoints (short-term and long-term goals)
My lessons are primarily designed for students studying classical piano; I have little experience with other genres of music. I am able to teach music theory as an aside if warranted.
