About Charles
I began teaching math and technology in the California GATE (gifted and talented education) program in 2005, returning to Canada in 2012 where I have been teaching since. With the advent of YouTube and the democratization of personalized education, my role as a teacher has shifted to instructor, mentor and facilitator. I pass on numerous and tested resources to my students and I am continually amazed at the creativity and focus that these tools provide to augment their academic pathways.

The great benefit to children learning game design, robotics, Minecraft, or other leading programs is that outcomes are student driven and need to be constantly tested and refined towards a perfected goal. A good instructor will provide the student with foundational skills, encouragement and resources tailored to the individual or group needs and can move the students through various levels of difficulty while the child gains confidence and pride in their achievements. A perfect blend of both Socratic and scientific methods lead to better future outcomes in math, science, engineering and business studies.
