About Mike
I am a current university lecturer in the field of computer science. I taught AP Computer Science for six years with great student success. This course is hard, with a 35% failure rate. I will do my very best to ensure that you not only pass the final AP Exam, but that you will do so with confidence.
It is best to start tutoring early in the year. You do not want to wait until you fall behind or lose confidence. Lets work together, consistently so that you succeed in class daily and on the exam.

I taught AP Computer Science A in South Korea and the UAE. I am currently a lecturer at the University of Kentucky.
My past AP Computer Science A students have had great success, averaging 4.1/5.0 on the exam over six years. If you are taking this rigorous course, I can help you along the way and help you prepare for the final AP Exam.
I have a hands-on approach to tutoring where we approach problems and code together. I don't lecture you. I work with you, like a peer. I also have so many resources after years of teaching that I can find similar problems, algorithms, or exam questions to review with you and build your confidence.
I find that having one or two sessions per week, consistently, is the way to go. Students that request tutoring periodically are often in need of more help than they think. We can solve programming problems that you have, review skills and learn more in-depth and efficient techniques in Java.
