About Jacek

I’ve been passionate about technology from a very young age, inspired by my father’s background in computer science. I began exploring computer science concepts at around 10 years old and wrote my first lines of code by the age of 12. Since then, I’ve continued to pursue this passion through every stage of my education, from A-Level Computer Science, to a Computer Science degree, and now through my postgraduate studies specialising in Medical Robotics at UCL. Alongside my academic journey, I’ve gained experience in teaching through a dedicated internship, which gave me valuable insight into how to explain complex topics clearly and effectively. This means I’m not completely new to tutoring and already understand how to create engaging and supportive learning environments. Technology has always been more than just a subject for me; it’s a genuine passion. I love sharing that enthusiasm with others, helping students discover the excitement of coding and computer science while building the skills and confidence they need to succeed.

About the lesson

I offer engaging and practical online computer science lessons tailored to each student’s needs. My approach focuses on learning by doing — we’ll work together on real examples, projects, and problem-solving exercises rather than just memorising theory. Teaching style & methodology: I use a hands-on approach, combining interactive whiteboards for theory explanations with live coding sessions in professional IDEs such as PyCharm or Visual Studio. This makes lessons both structured and practical, helping students understand not just what to do, but why it works. Lesson length: Standard lessons are 1 hour, though this can be adjusted to suit the student’s pace and schedule. Experience & qualifications: I hold a degree in Computer Science and am proficient in multiple programming languages, with a strong foundation in both practical coding and theoretical computer science. Having studied the UK curriculum myself, I am very familiar with the requirements for GCSE and A-Level Computer Science. Who the lessons are for: My lessons are suitable for ages 10 and up. Beginners can start with Scratch or Python (a fantastic first language for younger learners), while more advanced students can explore topics in Java, C++, or advanced Python. I also support GCSE and A-Level students with exam preparation, coursework, and understanding key concepts in algorithms, data structures, and computational theory. Whether you’re starting your first steps in coding, preparing for exams, or looking to deepen your understanding of computer science, my lessons will provide clear guidance, practical skills, and confidence to progress.
