About David

I studied a master`s degree in Biology and Pedagogy at Charles University in Prague, where I also had about 5 years of experience in scientific research. Among all of these opportunities, I have worked as a volunteer in the Scout movement.

My work in education sector has been pleasure for over 13 years in Czechia (EU) and the UK. I also have undertaken positions as an IT Technician and a Network Administrator at various levels. To extend this point a bit more, I have been working for many years as a freelancer in web development.

Part of my entire teaching career has been collaboration on the development of a curriculum for both Science and IT. It allows me to quickly understand students needs and find the correct direction in any examination materials. The ambition to find cross-curricular connections in Science, IT and other subjects can bring a different view on problematic topics and help to find answers for your struggle.

About the lesson

Computer skills are essential for nowadays and future careers, but they are also useful in day-to-day life situations. My name is David, and I'm a teacher in Computer Science and Science for Primary and Secondary schools.

My last two years of teaching at the democratic school Summerhill, shaped my ability to teach one-to-one lessons and targeting individual learning goals in close collaboration with each student. I will try to build a strong partnership with a relaxed and friendly approach to students and hopefully the ability to create lessons fun.

HOW OUR LEARNING SESSIONS WILL LOOK?
First lesson is free of charge. We will have a chance to talk about needs, find methods and time which will suit to the student. We also will plan the first steps in our learning journey. Teamwork and cooperation will be a vital part of our learning experience.

In the following lessons, we should address all demands and cover planned topics. We will focus on defined goals and learn from an extended range of resources. Video calls will maintain the online connection, with a possibility to raise questions at any time via messaging apps. Documents, online resources and individually tailored materials will be available over cloud storage. Typically Microsoft OneDrive or Google Drive.

Projects are the best methods to learn IT in most of the areas. Therefore, we get on board some hands-on activities and practical exercises, but we also will build solid knowledge in theory, and if needed, practise for exams.

Learning sessions can be adjusted according to student's feelings, time constraints and needs any time. Almost everything is possible.

WHAT I CAN TEACH?
I can help with Computer Science, Biology, Chemistry and Physics up to GCSE level. I also can prepare programming lessons or arrange sessions about multimedia and general uses of computers.

I worked with David at an independent school in Suffolk where he taught IT to students ranging in ages from 5 years old to 18 years old, as well as teaching some Science. He is very knowledgeable in his field and has a wealth of previous experience, not only in teaching, but also in industry. This gives David the ability to understand the real world applications of IT and to relate them back to his teaching. David is very understanding and patient and is able to support you if you are struggling but is equally able to push and develop your skills beyond the usual curriculum content, if that is what you need. In all I would Highly recommend David as a tutor, no matter what you level is.
