About Peyton

My passion for programming began when I first realized that simple lines of code could create functional and creative outcomes. Over the past eleven years, I have continually developed my knowledge through practical application, self-study, and teaching diverse learners. This journey has shaped both my technical ability and my understanding of how students learn and grow. I believe that a strong teacher should be patient, adaptable, and encouraging. I carefully observe how each student approaches challenges and adjust my teaching style to support their individual learning needs. I explain concepts in a clear and approachable way, making even complex topics feel manageable. I also place great importance on building confidence, because once students believe in themselves, their skills improve rapidly. Outside of my teaching work, I enjoy experimenting with new programming languages and tools. Staying up to date allows me to introduce modern techniques and real-world applications into my lessons. Programming, for me, is more than a profession — it is a lifelong passion, and I am deeply committed to sharing that passion with each student I teach.

About the lesson

Computer programming is both a technical skill and a creative outlet, and my lessons are designed to help students feel confident in both areas. I begin with the foundations, introducing how code works, how instructions are structured, and how simple commands can lead to powerful results. Students learn about variables, loops, conditions, and functions through guided explanations and hands-on practice. I encourage experimentation and curiosity so that students feel comfortable exploring ideas and learning from mistakes. This creates a relaxed but focused atmosphere where growth and understanding are constant.

As students develop their skills, lessons become more project-based and challenging. They begin working with multiple files, structured programs, and problem-solving tasks that reflect real-world scenarios. I introduce important concepts such as data types, arrays, and basic algorithms, helping students understand both the purpose and function of each part of their code. Support is also provided for academic coursework, homework, and exam preparation. I focus on developing clean coding habits, logical thinking patterns, and the ability to troubleshoot independently.

For more advanced students, the focus shifts to object-oriented programming, efficiency, and system design. Students work on larger projects that require planning, debugging, and optimization. They learn to analyse problems from different perspectives and build flexible solutions. My goal is to empower students to view programming as a long-term, valuable skill that builds confidence, innovation, and independence.
