About Lucy
I am a Computer Programming tutor with 11 years of experience and a PhD in Computer Science. Teaching programming has allowed me to guide students from learning their first coding concepts to confidently building useful applications through structured practice.
I believe coding should be taught through understanding, experimentation, and continuous improvement. My lessons encourage learners to ask questions, test ideas, and develop confidence while writing clean and organized programs.
Outside teaching, I enjoy developing software, exploring emerging technologies, and studying modern programming methods. These interests help me design engaging lessons that prepare students with valuable technical skills for the future.

My Computer Programming lessons help students build confidence by learning coding through practical application instead of memorizing commands. We begin with Python, HTML, C programming, programming logic, variables, loops, conditions, functions, arrays, and basic algorithms using simple explanations and hands-on activities. Every lesson encourages learners to understand how programs work while developing problem-solving skills through consistent practice. I create a supportive environment where mistakes become valuable learning opportunities.
As students continue improving, we explore debugging techniques, file handling, basic data structures, program design, modular coding, simple projects, and software development practices through structured exercises. I explain each topic using step-by-step demonstrations before encouraging learners to complete independent coding challenges. Project reviews, coding practice, and constructive feedback strengthen confidence while improving programming accuracy.
My goal is to help students become capable programmers who enjoy solving problems through technology. Every lesson develops logical thinking, creativity, and practical coding skills that prepare learners for future academic and professional opportunities.
