About Alicia
I have been teaching for a long time, so I have trained many students. Regarding my high school students, the truth is that I was always proud of them because they always went ahead, improved their performance and their study / learning habits (which obviously make my network of students grow). Those who decided that wanted to enter the university got that (some with more problems than others, of course), and those who decided to follow other paths were also able to reach them. Each way was unique, but I always felt that I helped them to understand that no subject should prevent them from achieving what they want to do.
Although it is difficult to keep track of college students, I know that many of my Spanish students in the US have had successful stays both in Spain and in Latin America, and some of them have even decided to stay in that new place, to learn more and teach about themselves, their culture and what they know.

I am a computational linguist, I teach from more than 20 years ago and I want to continue doing it. I have knowledge in different things, but we can stick to Spanish, English and technology. I began teaching in Peru, as a tutor at the secondary level (Spanish language and Math), and then I continued doing it at the university level, both in the US and in Spain (diverse courses in Spanish, linguistics and technology). After all these years, I got to the conclusion that I prefer to teach at high school level, because it is much more fulfilling for me, given that those years are decisive not only in academic terms but, and above all, in human terms.
I adapt my methodology according to the subject, the students and their needs. However, I always look for making them active participants in their learning, motivating their curiosity and helping them with the construction and solidification of a positive and personal approach to the learning process. Although I expect a space of concentration and attention in class, I also promote the space for humor and laughter.
