About Joanna
I am a composer and musician living in London. I graduated from my Masters in Composition at the Guildhall School with a Distinction in 2021. My undergraduate degree was a BA in Music (First Class) at the University of Cambridge.
I have a wide range of teaching experience, from group teaching children age 6-10 through to teaching advanced adult students.

I am a friendly and patient Music Theory teacher. I love explaining difficult or unintuitive concepts and use screen sharing with an iPad in order to illustrate concepts in a hands-on way. Lessons usually follow the format of looking at homework together, discussing any issues that come up, and then looking at the next week's problems together.
If students want to take exams, I usually work through the workbook published by the board which is appropriate for the student, making sure all concepts are covered and understood in the lead up to the exam.
If students want to have a more general grounding in Music Theory, I am happy to discuss the most interesting and appropriate way for them to learn, depending on their goals.
