About Tyler
Aside from the three musical degrees I hold, I have years of experience teaching private lessons and group lessons, online and in person. I taught as an in-home teacher and in a studio in Los Angeles, at Bloom School of Music and Dance. Before this I worked as a rock climbing instructor for the YMCA, teaching youth from all kinds of different backgrounds about safety and strategy. I love working with kids but have also had many students that were later beginners. I approach each individual at their own level and mold my teaching style to fit them. I believe everyone can learn to play an instrument. All it takes is the right environment and steady encouragement.

Hey! My name is Tyler and I love music and engaging with people that are as passionate about music as I am. I have a dual major in jazz composition and classical composition and a master's in composition. I tutored music for half a year at Berklee College of Music in Boston and taught private lessons in Los Angeles for two years after that with students ranging in age from 5 to 45 years old. Whether you are a complete beginner or experienced player, whether you want to pursue a career in music or just learn casually, it doesn’t matter to me. All that matters is that you want to learn! I believe the most important goal of music lessons is to excite and engage my students and that hard work and practice will naturally follow as long as there is a strong foundation of passion.
