About Sasha
I am based in Brooklyn and teach to all ages at Arthouse Astoria in New York City. I hold a degree in music composition with an emphasis on songwriting and improvisation. You can find me singing in choruses all over the city, in the recording studio, and playing with my band!

My lessons prioritize musicianship and health over learning advanced theory jargon and instrumental virtuosity. I believe ear training and listening skills are essential to any kind of musician, and make playing music more accessible and fun!
We'll go over repertoire and find pieces that you really love, or you can bring in music of your own! We'll also listen to other singers and composers you love and talk about developing a performing style. In your daily practice, I'll encourage you to focus on which techniques we learn in lessons pair well with the lyrics that you love and that speak to you.
Warmups will include sight singing exercises, placement drills to learn vowels, and improvisation.
I am happy to teach anyone of any level and age, especially if you are interested in a more creative, improvisational approach to all genres of voice!
