About Tommy

I am a commerce student at Vanier College who’s looking to help students with their academic needs. I am Venezuelan and Chinese. I have studied in a Spanish-speaking school system, traveled to the United States to study in English, and currently live in Canada, where I have learned French in a French-speaking secondary school.

About the lesson

I teach using flashcards, exercises that are interactive between students or between the student and me. A great way to practice speech is through conversation, which I will use to enhance the student’s conversation skills, grammar, pronunciation, tone, and fluidity. The use of questions is crucial to test the student orally, and written work is essential for the student to demonstrate their understanding of the language that is being taught.

He speaks very well English and Spanish without any particular accents. I believe that he would be a great teacher because he is a very logical thinker and would explain any questions that the students would ask in an understanding manner. Moreover, he is an exceptionally patient person. He understands the struggles of learning a language since he too had to have gone through that process. Overall I think he would be a great teacher for any student willing to learn and willing to put in the effort.
