About Elizabeth

I was the youngest applicant to apply for the Glyndebourne academy aged (16-26) I was 16 and 3 months of which I got through 3 rounds of tough competition!

I entered and won every single round of the Rotary Young Musician Of The Year 2024 and I can proudly say I hold a national title.

I have Performed in many prestigious places including St Paul’s Cathedral in London and also the Sagrada Familia in Catalonia Spain performing the Allegri Miserere both in which I did solos.

I went to King’s School Rochester for my A levels, a private school known for its high musical achieving students. I performed every single week in Rochester cathedral and took every single opportunity I could.

I have been a part of many different choirs from the Kent County Choir to the National Children’s Choir of Great Britain of which I went from the age 11-18

I have also performed in the St Matthew Passion and was a named part.

I want to be able to share my music and my experience with other people and teach them what I know to help them become the best singer they can be. I care so much about what I do and if you learn with me I can assure you I will take you under my wing and we can go on this fabulous journey of music lessons.

I want to be a cheerleader to my students and make them feel like what they are doing is worth it and that they are enough! Sometimes singing can really boost your mental state and I think it is so important to make sure we are happy when singing.

About the lesson

Hello! My name is Elizabeth Knowles and I specialise in classical singing and performance.

I am a young classical singer aged 19 however, despite my young age, I have incredible experience and knowledge to teach young children and beginners.

I have worked for choirs with people from the ages of 4-70+ where I taught choral, pop, classical, folk and many more genres. All students I taught said they had so much fun and learnt lots about music and their own voices.

My teaching style is relaxed, calming and fun with positive feedback working on becoming a better and well-rounded student. We will be learning the Italian language and techniques heard and used in music to help with our understanding of classical and everyday composition.

I will have a written plan and keep a spreadsheet so each student can see their progress and where they started from. The end goal for my students will be to create a repertoire list so that they can use it to either perform in a local concert or use it for audition pieces in the future.

I was lucky enough to be taught and inspired by amazing teachers and I want to give that same experience and opportunity that I had to you! :)
