About Avukile
Hi students! I recently graduated with my Master's Degree in Psychology and Counseling from Columbia University in New York City. I am passionate about and have worked in the professional public health, youth development, and NGO space! I enjoy teaching and working with curious students who want to understand a specific topic better! I speak English, IsiXhosa, Sestwana and some Spanish!
I also am a big fan of meditation and yoga, and may incorporate some breathing exercises during our sessions!I look forward to meeting you!

I really focus on understanding what my student needs from each lesson, gathering their strengths and weaknesses, and then using that to fine-tune what the lesson looks like.
For subjects that are heavy in memory, I often love to use mnemonics and help students remember topics in a fun way. I also believe in intentional homework pieces to help the student grasp key information.
My lessons are intended for students at the beginning learning level as well as the intermediate level depending on the content.
